Warverse - Prolog

Yes, I know, I sad that this week you well see my steampunk comic, but the stuff I wrote about it have banished in a computer crash. So todays subject is Warverse.

Warverse originally was a short comic what I wrote, Szati drawn and Szabira inked, colored and lettered for the Clint magazine's submission. I wanted to write something sci-fi because that something I never wrote. Here:

Sadly we didn't get in, but I fallen love with this universe so I'm working on novels and other comics here I show everything about this crazy as world where the main enemy is the humanity. The prolog is technically the New Hope of my Star Wars. I just show you the world and the place, but believe me this world is mind-blowing. I still searching artist for it. There’s a plan for web comic or try to publish it somewhere. The plan is that everything what happens on earth is shown in comics, but what happens in the space is in novels.

So if you’re an artist and think you’re capable drawing this comic write in the comments and show me you’re art galley!

My comic list

Today’s subject is the stuff I wrote in these years. Now I only write about comics that had some art or at least an artist. If I started writing all the comics I wrote…my head would explode and yours too. So this list just comics what I wrote and has a few picture done. Later I want to talk about these artists to, they are amazing and sadly no one knows them. Let’s start!

0. Marvel submissions
These are the submissions for the marvel publisher when they accepted writers. I wrote three scripts and a lot of synopsis. You didn’t see my name on a Marvel comic so I tell you: I didn’t make it.

1. Our Old Days
Well, you all know about Our Old Days strip series. It all started by a joke what I said to Szati. After the first two I wrote many others, but Szati didn’t have time to work on them because he wasn’t close to the computer. Yes, the main characters were based on us.

2. Aztec War
This is a four part miniseries, historical, action, horror story. A few concept arts were done by Szati.

3. Vlad
This is my historical, horror comic, which is three issue long. The first few pages drawn by Szati, inked, colored and lettered by Szabira Barcsik. (Her deviantart page: http://arnymacs.deviantart.com)

4.  G (working title)
A really weird superhero comic, what I can’t really describe, without spoiling the main idea. The creators are the same: Drawn by Szati, and everything else by Szabira.

5. Blood City
It’s kind of embarrassing to talk about, but this is the comic what I wrote and drawn in a Flash maker. It is a web comic where I created a City, where the vampires rule the humans, like the Gods did. It’s a cross between the classic ancient Greece legends and dramas and the gothic novels. Sadly I don’t have the time and the talent to be the artist for the series, but if I find someone I loved to continue and/or remake the series.

6. Reflection in the mirror (working title: Steampunk)
This comic was created for a Hungarian contest. Of course in the end they didn’t do anything what was promised, but (ironically) thank God we lose, so we didn’t work on this comic for so long for nothing. Not like others…
The team was the same as always: Szabira, Szati and me. It was a one-shot (30-40 page long), in a steampunk universe. It was a mix of everything what was popular in the 19th century; African adventure novels, gothic horrors, War of the Worlds sci-fi stuff, and more.

7. Libra
It is a black and white comic book series, written for an upcoming Hungarian online anthology series. It is a crime series where I created a Budapest (Hungary’s capital city) in a dark world like in Steve Ditko’s books. Szati started drawing it, but he didn’t have time to continue it.

8. Farkas (in English: Wolf)
This is another Hungarian series, a fantasy, noir, where I tried to modernize the original mythology of Hungary. The artist is CosmicGhost. (deviantart: http://cosmicghost.deviantart.com)

9. War (working title)
A 3 page long, short comic created for the Clint magazine. It didn’t make it, but I fall in love with the universe so there will be more from this world. The classic partners: Szabira & Szati.

10. Fear
This is a novel, a short story what I wrote long time ago. Szabira is working on a comic version and there is a possibility that there will be a short movie adaptation.

11. Angels (working title)
This comic is created by Szabira and me. Both wrote and drawn part of it. It is a war-drama miniseries with a little bit surreal feeling. We want to do it, but probably we will find someone else to drawn it.

12. Farkasok Völgye (English: Valley of Wolfs)
Later I talk about this, but not now.

13. Barbarian (working title)
This is a new comic book series for American submissions. We (Szabira, Szati and me) just started working on it.

14. *****
An upcoming web comic strip site with other Hungarian artists and it’s coming soon.

Before anyone would ask; yes, every comic will be shown in the site after the time, but many of them are still out there as a submission and I still hope to get a ‘yes’ with one of them.

FAQ

Let's get over with what you need to now about me:

1. Who are you?
My name is Zsolt Fazekas, I’m living in Hungary, a little country in Europe. I'm mainly a comics and novel writer who tries to break into the industry.

2. Why don’t you do this in Hungary?
Well that's an easy one. Because there is no chance for that here. In Hungary you need good friends in the right places or money to publish your stuff. I don’t have either of them.
Comics is really a trap here. There’s only a few people who can live by doing it and they are all artists. If you can get one of your works published, that’s probably all the success you can get. After that there’s nothing, and probably it will cost you more than you can get, and you will need another job.
But the comics and novels have the same problems here: No one gives a shit. Most of the publishers are publishing known books from abroad, or books of people who are already well-known. Little publishers - those I know about - ask for money to publish our stuff and believe me, you don't even get back half of it.
Don't get me wrong, this doesn’t mean that I’m not trying, but even if I succeed, I can't do anything after that. This is why I try American publishers. If you succeed there, you instantly succeed here, too. Sadly (and ironically) this way is the easy way.

3. What's going to be on this blog?
Well... everything. Seriously. You are going to see my comics, mostly those that can't be submitted. There will be news about my submissions even if they failed. Concept arts from my upcomings projects. So almost everything what I’ve have done or am doing right now.

Ps:
Forgive me for my English. I try my best, but sometimes I will screw up some things. Sorry.
